Anne co-founded 23andMe in 2006 after a decade spent in healthcare investing, focused primarily on biotechnology companies. Her hope was to empower consumers with access to their own genetic information and to create a way to generate more personalized information so that commercial and academic researchers could better understand and develop new drugs and diagnostics.

Maria was awarded the Texas Governor’s Excellence in Small Business Award and is the founder of #brandchat, a recognized online chat focused on marketing and branding. She earned her B.B.A. in marketing from Texas Tech University and graduate work at Cornell University, University of California in Davis, and University of Phoenix.

Her team helps businesses get online and grow, focusing on sales and operations for this high-growth segment as well as the acquisition of new advertisers and channel partners for Google Ads and YouTube. Prior to joining Google in 2012, Mary Ellen was a Partner with McKinsey & Company for 12 years, where she advised leading consumer, media and tech companies, and led the Consumer Marketing and Sales practice in North America. Earlier in her career, she spent 11 years in marketing and brand strategy, helping leading brands expand their global reach. Mary Ellen completed her BA from the University of Michigan.

As a professional speaker, Corissa presents on a variety of topics including business development and marketing, as well as professional and personal development and growth. She loves public speaking (I know, weird!) and loves helping people learn and evolve. She is passionate about helping emerging entrepreneurs discover their mission, align their purpose, and find their voice.

MEAGHAN MAPLES 

– Musical Guest

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Meaghan Maples grew up singing in classical choral and gospel settings, honing her live performance chops before she was tall enough to ride a rollercoaster. She loves creating intimate and unique live performance settings, and often chooses to throw her own events to make sure that her fans get to feel a sensation of inclusivity, and heartfelt empowerment. She has had a successful career as songwriter/sync artist (Mama Haze), but is now re-claiming her talent for herself, going by her given name, and focusing on making music that she truly loves. Meaghan describes the material as being “less pop and less noisy, and there’s something really special and raw about it… It genuinely feels like an artistic rebirth.”
